About the Role

Responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment ensuring product quality, employee safety, and food safety standards, as well as regulatory requirements are met or exceeded. Supports adherence to the production schedule to ensure high levels of customer service and production efficiency through effective equipment operation and limited downtime.

Areas of responsibility include plant equipment and conveyors, production lines, prep areas, dry and finish goods storage, chillers, kitchen ventilation, fire and safety systems, buildings and grounds, CIP, and bulk chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently operate equipment in a safe manner in accordance with OEM guidelines.
  • Complete scheduled Preventative Maintenance Tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain equipment records and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning and non-functioning equipment.
  • Maintain Maintenance Shop, Electrical Room, Parts Room, and Production Floor as it relates to maintenance in a clean and organized manner.
  • Maintain neat and orderly personal appearance.
  • Install new equipment and move existing equipment.
  • Plan own work by organizing job site, specifying OEM parts, communicating plan to affected personnel, and staging appropriate tools.
  • Maintain effective line of communication between maintenance and operations, providing current and correct information on maintenance issues that relate to floor production.
  • Ensure Employee Job Safety Accountabilities are completed and identify compliance issues promptly.
  • Assist in execution of action plans related to health/safety with QA, Safety, and others to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the completion of GSTD investigations.
  • Perform lubrication rounds in accordance with OEM guidelines.
  • Perform other maintenance tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain Full-face respirator certification (provided by employer).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, CMMS, and Control Systems.
  • Able to read electrical and mechanical plans.
  • Ability to obtain forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certification.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience with advanced troubleshooting abilities.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience; food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic tool set required: combo wrenches, screwdrivers, basic socket set, channel locks, adjustable wrenches, small sledgehammer. Electrical screwdrivers and meters provided.

Working Conditions

  • Extensive walking and standing.
  • Vision and hearing requirements.
  • Repetitive motion (hands/wrists).
  • Climbing and balancing.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, weekends, and some holidays, sometimes for weeks at a time.
  • Occasional physical exertion, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate concentration required for moderately complex tasks.
  • Work environment includes exposure to heat, cold, dust, or other minor inconveniences.
  • Some exposure to hazards that might cause minor injury.

Pay

The Maintenance Mechanic base pay range is $28.00–$36.00 USD/hour. The range represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries at the Everett, WA location. Pay is determined by qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical to allow for future salary growth.
