Maintenance Mechanic 1 - 1st Shift

About the Role

GD-OTS is expanding rapidly in Lincoln, NE and is looking for a motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our 2nd-shift team at the West Facility. We design, develop, manufacture, and test composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes, and fuel tanks for defense and commercial aerospace markets.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance work to keep machines, equipment, and parts operational.
• Troubleshoot, repair, build, dismantle, and erect all types of machines and equipment.
• Operate shop machines such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and saws.
• Work on electrical equipment, steam, gas, water, or other pipelines.
• Perform carpentry duties, welding, and operate shop equipment, tools, and measuring devices.
• Read sketches, tool and machine drawings, and machine and assemble production parts.
• Apply shop math and use precision measuring devices.
• Perform general housekeeping and janitorial duties throughout the plant.
• Handle miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Preferred: Graduate from a trade school with an Electromechanical Technology Trade degree or equivalent certification/experience.
• Knowledge of shop math and above-average skill in using precision measuring devices.
• Must possess necessary qualifications in at least one of the key areas listed under responsibilities.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $37.13 per hour.
