About the Role
Manages the daily maintenance operations of a 200+ room NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) property, overseeing a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and renovation program at the site level. Provides input for short and long-range planning and utilizes the Property Management System (PMS) to manage guest room information, occupancy data, and maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, coordinate, execute, and supervise maintenance, repair, and renovation programs.
- Plan and schedule ongoing production-oriented work for maintenance personnel on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly bases, adjusting staff levels as needed.
- Perform various maintenance-related tasks associated with NHG buildings.
- Coordinate with Public Works, NAVFAC planners, and outside organizations for maintenance work in NHG facilities.
- Conduct inspections of all facilities and common areas, following up on corrective actions to ensure completion and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and formal/informal training for maintenance staff.
- Maintain inventory of tools and equipment and ensure operations align with established procedures.
- Prepare briefings, evaluations, NAVPERS requests, and cost estimates for in-house and contractor projects funded by Non-Appropriated Funds.
- Supervise positions such as Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Worker, Groundskeeper, and Motor Vehicle Operator.
- Conduct staff counseling, evaluations, and training; recommend awards and approve leave while maintaining program requirements.
- Handle staff suggestions and complaints diplomatically, ensuring EEO concepts are applied and a safe work environment is maintained.
- Ensure guest security and privacy at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three years of general maintenance experience involving building, grounds, fixtures, and equipment upkeep.
- One year of high school education may substitute for 3 months of general experience (up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of experience).
- One year of specialized maintenance work involving trades such as air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, or painting.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations, tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring or uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- A professional certification or license in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or painting is preferred.
