Maintenance Machinist 1

About the role

The Machinist position at ClarkDietrich's Vienna, OH location focuses on using machine tools to make or modify parts. This role involves tool and die assembly and setup, utilizing various machines such as end mills, surface grinders, drill mills, cutting saws, power drills, cutting torches, welders, CNC machines, lathes, and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Duplicate machine parts and calculate unspecified dimensions based on blueprints, schematics, part drawings, and reference tables.
• Ensure all parts and assemblies meet specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot, tear down, repair, and reassemble tooling dies and assemblies, and train production workers on tool and die setups.
• Set up, adjust, and maintain production machinery, including CNC machines and manual tools.
• Ensure machines are safely operated and in good condition for use by operators.
• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on machine shop equipment.

Requirements

• Able to operate machines such as lathe, end mill, drill press, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, grinders, sanders, hand tools, CNC machines, cutting torches, welding machines, and brake presses.
• Strong work ethic, capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, ability to read and write, and focus.
• At least 5 years of experience in environments with high-tech machines, with prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Education: High school/GED or trade school in machines. Military equivalent recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
• Mathematical skills: Basic arithmetic operations, conversion of fractions to decimals, familiarity with measuring tools like tape measures, calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, and other precision equipment.
• Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for 8+ hours, walk for 4-6 hours, sit, stand, walk, grasp both hands for up to 8 hours, bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs occasionally, and control noise exposure.

Qualifications

Must be able to read and write, have strong communication skills, and maintain focus. Possess basic mathematical skills and proficiency with precision measuring tools.
