About the role
Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned equipment and instrumentation. Assist in coordinating and scheduling all maintenance activities within the asset team. Develop and promote leadership, training, and teamwork within the team.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned equipment and instrumentation.
- Complete documentation for preventative maintenance and various worksheets related to injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling all maintenance activities.
- Develop and promote leadership and teamwork within the team.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control system problems on injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment, and fixtures.
- Plan, layout, and install electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in support of the fabrication and installation of new equipment and fixtures.
- Communicate with Maintenance, Process, and Production Supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
- Train and assist maintenance personnel within the team.
- Interact with Maintenance, Process, Production, and PIC groups for scheduling downtime within the asset team for corrective maintenance.
- Interact with outside sources to improve or repair equipment or processes.
- Document any changes made to control circuitry, hydraulics, or mechanical functions from OEM standard and forward to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Interact with Central Stores in maintaining and determining stock levels on parts for all equipment.
- Research and request parts for all equipment within the asset team.
- Perform daily housekeeping on the production floor and maintenance areas.
- Maintain all company-owned equipment and tools assigned to the asset team.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Job-related experience with troubleshooting injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment of three to five years or more.
- Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physically able to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to perform duties in confined spaces.
- Lift Truck certified (preferred but not necessary). If not certified, must become certified in a reasonable amount of time.
- Must wear/use all required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, mechanics gloves (when required), steel toe boots, etc.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and organization is critical.
