Maintenance Generalist MG03, FT - 1st Shift, Newton Hatchery (MLO)

Applicants must reside within a 30-mile radius of the facility and must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.

About the role

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role may involve work in any department of the feed mill.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and company assets
• Operate in a safe work environment following Tyson policies and procedures
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, climbing, pushing, and pulling (up to 300lb buggies)
• Lift materials (weight varies by area)
• Work on elevated surfaces
• Communicate orally and in writing
• Use basic math and computer skills, including data entry into handheld systems
• Operate hand tools, power tools, automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders, and ladders
• Obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT)
• Work with specialized equipment and observe its use
• Maintain and clean machines
• Collaborate with contractors to ensure proper equipment utilization
• Complete training for equipment setup, operation, and shutdown
• Undergo performance evaluations by Tyson and vendors
• Fabricate by welding and cutting
• Follow Tyson’s preventive maintenance program

Requirements

• Six months of operator experience with one employer in the previous 12 months
• Three to five years of related experience, with at least three years in an industrial setting
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational diploma preferred), or a combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Schedule

4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

Pay

Starting base pay: $20.90 per hour
