Schedule
Tuesday – Friday 8 am to 6 pm and Saturday 8 am to 12 pm. Days and hours may vary.
About the role
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any department of the feed mill.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on equipment and company assets
- Work in various departments of the feed mill
- Stand, walk, bend, stretch, twist, climb, push and pull up to 300 lb buggies, and reach in all areas
- Lift materials (weight varies by area)
- Work on elevated surfaces in some areas
- Communicate orally and in writing
- Perform basic math and computer tasks, including data entry into handheld computer systems
- Use basic hand tools, operate power tools, and work with automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders, and ladders
- Obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT)
- Work with specialized equipment and observe its use
- Maintain and clean machines
- Collaborate with contractors to ensure proper equipment utilization
- Complete training to set up, operate, and shut down equipment
- Undergo performance evaluations by Tyson and vendors to ensure proper machine operation
- Fabricate by welding and cutting
- Read and write to follow Tyson’s preventive maintenance program
Requirements
- Six months of operator experience with one employer in the previous 12 months
- Three to five years of related experience, with at least three years in an industrial setting
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred, or a combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field
- Must reside within a 30-mile radius of the facility
- Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
