About the role
The Maintenance Floater position at Ergon is a critical role that assists the Facility Crew Chief with maintenance and housekeeping tasks at the Magnolia Terminal and Pipeline. This position also involves filling in for various positions during absences, requiring the individual to learn multiple roles and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist Facility Crew Chief with maintenance and housekeeping tasks at the Magnolia Terminal and Pipeline
- Filling in for various positions including nights and weekends as needed
- Learn all positions at the facility and cover vacations, call offs, medical leaves, or other events
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks such as landscaping, painting, cleaning, working on equipment, assisting with pipeline tasks, working in the pipeline control room, completing daily inventory records, and other tasks as assigned
- Complete required training for operation of the Magnolia facility
- Avoidance of travel to other facilities to assist when necessary
- Avoidance of compliance-related activities associated with pipeline operation
- Follow established safety practices and participate in required drills and inspections
- Participation in special projects as directed by the Facility Manager or Facility Crew Chief
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Completion of required documentation and computer skills
- Good communication skills for interacting with co-workers and outside parties
- Self-motivation, ability to follow directions, and completion of assigned tasks with limited supervision
- Flexibility regarding schedule and ability to work in all types of weather conditions
