Maintenance Engineer - Operating Room (OR)
About the role
The Maintenance Engineer assists in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment, including all therapeutic linear accelerators, diagnostic X-Ray equipment, and other electrical and mechanical equipment. They maintain equipment throughout the various Operating Rooms in the Main and Ambulatory spaces, order equipment and supplies via Workday, and coordinate equipment trials and repairs with outside vendors.
Repairs are performed as needed to provide reliable and timely service to Radiation Oncology patients. Maintenance is provided after hours and may include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain therapeutic linear accelerators, diagnostic X-Ray equipment, and other electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain equipment in Operating Rooms across Main and Ambulatory spaces.
- Order equipment and supplies via Workday.
- Coordinate equipment trials and repairs with outside vendors.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics or a closely related field.
- Two to three years of experience as an engineer with an X-ray company or working in-house at a large hospital.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Five or more years of engineering experience in radiologic/radiation oncology equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting 50-100 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and sitting.
- Frequent bending, walking, climbing (steps, ladder, other), and overhead reaching.
- Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, and logical thinking.
- Able to handle a fast-paced environment, multiple priorities, frequent and intense customer interactions, noise, and adapt to frequent change.
Pay
Compensation range: $30.01 - $46.51 per hour. Actual salary offers will be based on relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
Schedule
After-hours maintenance, including evenings and weekends.
