Maintenance Engineer

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering from a four-year college or university, or four to six years of related experience with a high school diploma or G.E.D., or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialist-Specific Knowledge

Electrical Specialist

• Working knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems), including PLC program refinement, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of electrical power systems and circuitry
• Working knowledge of CNC control systems

Mechanical Specialist

• Working knowledge of general design and maintenance of mechanical components and systems
• Working knowledge of general design and maintenance of hydraulics and pneumatic systems

For both Mechanical and Electrical positions, HPDC machine and CNC machine maintenance experience is preferred.

Skills

Language Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
