Maintenance Engineer

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering from a four-year college or university, or four to six years of related experience with a high school diploma or G.E.D., or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialist-Specific Knowledge

Electrical Specialist

• Working knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems), including PLC program refinement, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of electrical power systems and circuitry
• Working knowledge of CNC control systems

Mechanical Specialist

• Working knowledge of general design and maintenance of mechanical components and systems
• Working knowledge of general design and maintenance of hydraulics and pneumatic systems

Both Mechanical and Electrical Positions

• HPDC machine and CNC machine maintenance experience preferred

Skills

Language Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to:

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to:

• Risk of electrical shock

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
