About the Role
This is a 2nd shift position (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) in the Maintenance department at our Kulpsville, PA location. The role is part of the KV Union, Grade 12, and reports to the Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all federal and state environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as company safety policies and protocols.
- Perform work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions for maintenance tasks.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes (e.g., 6S, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma) to enhance department efficiency.
- Execute light electrical repairs related to plant infrastructure and equipment (e.g., E-stops, proximity sensors, light curtains, relays, fuses).
- Perform advanced hydraulic repairs, including pumps, lines, and cylinder rebuilds.
- Make minor repairs to maintenance shop tooling or equipment.
- Apply maintenance best practices for alignment, vibration, oil, and lubrication.
- Record all work information in the GT Computerized Maintenance Management Software via a company-issued tablet.
- Develop knowledge of equipment repair, assembly, troubleshooting, and performance assessment for potential department progression.
- Replace failed instrumentation components with like-for-like replacements (e.g., temperature controllers, proximity switches, solid-state relays).
- Perform duties in a timely and safe manner, adhering to company safety, environmental, and quality policies.
- Complete miscellaneous duties within the site as directed by supervision.
- Maintain basic knowledge of the following trades/subjects (preferred):
- Motor circuits
- Electrical control systems
- Fabrication
- Welding
- Hydraulics
- Power & Transmission
- Pneumatics
- Lubrication
- Predictive technologies
- Complete associated paperwork, including equipment maintenance records and technical document updates.
- Carry and use a company-issued portable communications device during working hours.
- Operate material handling equipment, forklifts, and aerial man-lifts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience performing essential duties in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to proactively stay updated on relevant maintenance technological advancements through continuous education or training.
- Achieve a passing score of 65% or better on the Ramsay multi-craft entry exam.
- Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret production drawings, work instructions, and company documents.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without mechanical lifting devices.
- Ability to continuously work in positions requiring grasping and repetitive movement.
- Ability to frequently work in positions requiring kneeling, standing, walking, climbing, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in heights, confined spaces, and temperature extremes.
