Maintenance - 2nd Shift

Summary of Duties

• Assist with light maintenance and repair to all components of the buildings and grounds.
• Work with Administration and Contractors as it relates to maintenance, repairs of plumbing and electrical systems, and other areas.
• Participate in the District's Preventative Maintenance program.
• Ability to respond to emergency repair required for facilities and snow removal tasks at any hour of the day or night as the need arises.
• Participate in the District's Weekend On-Call duty rotation roster.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and maintenance/custodial experience.
• Valid Illinois driver's license required.
• Experience working in the trades is preferred.
• Experience with commercial building plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
• Education in HVAC.

Physical Demands

• Frequent walking; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling and talking or hearing.
• Occasional requirement to stand; sit and taste or smell.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

• Environmental conditions include wet and/or humid conditions; exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
• Occasional exposure to extreme cold and extreme heat.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay & Schedule

Range of Pay: $22.72 - $23.97 / Hour, Plus 2nd Shift Stipend $1.00/Hour. Classification: HESPA. Maintenance - 2nd Shift. 12 Months / Full-Time.
