The Neurosciences Institute at a well-established academic medical center in New York is expanding its Neurology Department with opportunities for staff neurologists specializing in Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular, Behavioral/Alzheimer's, and other subspecialties. The program also seeks neuro-ophthalmologists, general and stroke neurohospitalists, and a research-focused physician-scientist specializing in neurodegenerative disorders, particularly those with expertise in neuro-imaging.

Neurodegenerative Physician-Scientist Role
Candidates should have experience conducting basic, translational, or clinical research, a demonstrated track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and success in securing extramural funding. Applicants with clinical training in adult or child neurology will provide clinical coverage in inpatient and outpatient services and contribute to the educational mission by mentoring trainees and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees (or foreign equivalent)
- Research experience and accomplishments in basic, translational, or clinical research
- Board certification in neurology by the ABPN and eligibility for medical licensure in New York
- Record of publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of success competing for extramural, federal funding
- Experience managing a basic research laboratory or leading clinical trials
