About the Role
Manage a team to keep pace with all assigned priority work projects according to the department's committed schedule. Ensure all work is performed to agreed quality standards and done in a safe and productive manner. Assist and support proper end-of-shift shutdown procedures. Escalate any concerns to the proper chain of command to ensure project delays are properly communicated.
Responsibilities
- Mailing Services Area: Assist and support all areas including bindery, folding, cutting, standard/file-based inserting, addressing systems, metering, shipping systems, and the Custom Hand Mailing area.
- Digital Print Services Area: Assist and support all areas including print production of both black-and-white and color production units delivering cut-sheet output.
- Oversee quality and accuracy of all work performed on the shift.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all production software.
- Assist and train second-shift team members as needed.
- Train as a backup for other staff members during vacations and other absences.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Strong team player; willing to support other departments as needed.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree required, or equivalent related work experience.
- Print and Mail Industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone and in person.
