Magnolia Plant - Process Improvement Professional

About the role

This position is located at the Milliken – Magnolia Plant in Blacksburg, SC and reports to the Process Improvement Manager. The Process Improvement Engineer leads continuous improvement efforts at the site, driving new performance levels, improving quality, consistency, and cost.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Due to continuous plant operations, the schedule may require arriving before 8:00 am, staying beyond 5:00 pm, and participating in the management team weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of the conditions that impact processes and products.
• Use sound project management skills to manage multiple improvement projects.
• Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills.
• Incorporate creative thinking to identify unique ways to improve consistency, speed, cost, and efficiency.
• Prepare diagrams, charts, and tables to reflect findings and support recommendations.
• Work closely with the Product Development area to create new samples and products.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals.
• Participate fully in the Safety Process, Lean principles, and MPS processes.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• Textile, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering major.
• Previous manufacturing experience (intern, co-op, or full-time).
