About the role
The Machinist will be responsible for setting up machines for Operators, reading and interpreting process worksheets, inspecting parts, operating and maintaining set-ups of machines, and performing minor repairs of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture and inspect detailed parts from drawings using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment).
- Perform mathematical and geometrical calculations.
- Determine how to set up machines based on instructions received.
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and free from safety hazards.
- Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret process worksheets, inspect parts, set-up, operate and maintain set-ups of machines, and maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.
- High school diploma.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Ability to set up CNC lathes and mills preferred (6+ months or machinist schooling).
- Wire EDM and waterjet experience are preferred.
