Machinist, Staff
Location: Lansing, NY | Shift: First (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | Hourly rate: $24–$25/hour
About the role
Manufacture and inspect detailed parts from drawings using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment). Perform mathematical and geometrical calculations. Determine how to set up machines based on instructions received and perform minor repairs of equipment. Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards while maintaining acceptable quality and efficiency levels.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings and process worksheets
- Inspect parts and maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level
- Operate and maintain set-ups of machines
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Ability to communicate effectively
- 6+ months of experience or machinist schooling setting up CNC lathes and mills (preferred)
- Wire EDM and waterjet experience (preferred)
