This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $28/hr. to $38/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.What You'll Do
- Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery
- Calculate dimensions and tolerance using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipers
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machines
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders
- Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments
- Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on shop equipment
What You'll Need
- A high school diploma or GED
- Technical diploma in related area of study, such as Precision Machining, preferred
- 4+ Years of manual machining experience
- Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines
- Ability to interpret technical manuals
- Availability to work shifts outside of normal work schedule, including required OT on weekends and holidays
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word) and ability to operate windows-based programs from a tablet, computer, or smartphone remotely
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel for field service work
