Responsibilities
- Safely operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machine cells, as well as standalone CNC machines.
- Perform basic machine setup operations, including preparing fixtures, cutting tools, and CNC programs.
- Load and unload materials and components into machining fixtures and workholding devices.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust CNC offsets as needed to maintain product quality.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Utilize advanced inspection tools such as height gauges, air gauges, and bench inspection equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and dimensional tolerances.
- Perform basic deburring operations, including edge breaking and surface finishing.
- Maintain accurate production records and interact with production tracking systems such as Labor Track and Shop Trak.
- Safely transport materials and finished products between workstations.
- Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
- Absorb additional production and machining duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience required.
- Prior experience operating CNC machining centers and performing machine setups.
- GED or High School Diploma preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Working knowledge of CNC machine controls, offsets, and program adjustments.
- Basic understanding of CNC G-codes and M-codes.
- Experience reading blueprints and applying dimensional specifications.
- Familiarity with precision inspection equipment and quality control processes.
- Basic knowledge of shop math, including fractions, decimals, geometry, and positive/negative values.
- Experience using hand tools, drills, saws, pneumatic tools, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to use computers, CNC controls, and production tracking software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and workholding methods.
- Ability to identify, load, and secure fixtures with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of deburring techniques and finishing methods.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
