Responsibilities
- Determining setup requirements by reviewing blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and instructions.
- Making measurements, marking, and scribing dimensions on materials to guide machining operations.
- Machining bar stock to required dimensions with precision.
- Interacting with co-bots and robotic tools to enhance machining efficiency.
- Verifying conformance of finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as CMM and optical comparators.
- Performing preventative maintenance on machining equipment as needed.
- Complying with productivity and quality standards to meet operational goals.
- Operating a forklift when required to support material movement.
- Performing additional duties based on workload and business needs.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED; a certificate in CIMM or related industrial technology is preferred. 3+ years of experience in a job shop or high-mix, low-volume production environment.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, ability to read and interpret blueprints, intermediate math and reading skills, working knowledge of lathes, mills, and other machine shop equipment, ability to write and modify CNC programs, basic computer skills.
- Behavioral Skills: Willingness to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies, strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety, ability to stay focused and manage time effectively, positive attitude, ability to work well with peers, supervisors, management, and external partners.
- Physical Requirements: Motor skills sufficient to safely operate tools and machinery, ability to stand or walk for most of an 8-10-hour shift, ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper techniques, ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses and safety shoes, willingness to work overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends as needed.
