Machinist

Responsibilities

• Review samples, drawings and instructions to understand specifications of output
• Understand basic shop math and take measurements to ensure compliance to the customer print
• Monitor machine while working to identify issues
• Check output to ensure consistency within specifications and detect defects
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report minor damage

Requirements

• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. micrometers) to take accurate measurements
• Ability to read blueprints and manuals
• Good at math with analytical abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
• Centerless grinding is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven understanding of tooling requirements to setup and operate machines in the departments
• Familiarity with ISO Quality System particularly in medical device manufacturing
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to process information in both English and Metric measurement systems; ability to convert between the two
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages

Pay

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $24.00 - $30.00/hour.
