About the role
As a production CNC Machine Operator, you will operate CNC multi-axis machine centers to produce production parts and end products. All machines are CNC, with engineering providing production programs and tooling selection. This onsite position is based at our Two Harbors, MN facility and is not eligible for immigration or work visa sponsorship.
This position is eligible for a $1,200 sign-on bonus, payable to new hires who meet the program’s eligibility criteria. Details will be provided during the interview process.
Schedule
- 2nd shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday–Thursday
- Note: Any necessary training may occur on shifts outside of the hired shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate multi-axis CNC Mills and Lathes to manufacture complex parts and tools.
- Evaluate tool wear, make offsets, and load/unload parts in machine.
- Load raw materials, replace cutting tools, and follow setup procedures for CNC operations.
- Check product specs, handle nonconforming products, and complete production documentation.
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
- Close shop orders and follow production schedules for timely part delivery.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE use, and maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Safely handle materials using hoists, cranes, forklifts, and lifting devices.
- Perform daily autonomous maintenance on equipment.
Pay
The salary for this position is between $21.09 and $35.00 hourly plus a shift premium, depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements
- High school or two-year diploma required.
- Experience with machined parts.
- Knowledge of the operations of CNC Milling and Turning Equipment.
- Problem-solving analysis (desirable).
- Basic experience with precision measuring equipment, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Comfortable with basic computer applications, Windows, MS-Office (Word, Excel).
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand and follow machining procedures and read blueprints and set-up sheets.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, including feeds, speeds, G codes, and M codes.
- An eye for details and precision.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Intermittent bending/twisting, pushing/pulling, climbing, lifting/lowering.
- Intermittent use of hand/wrist.
- Must carry 1 to 20 pounds intermittently; lifting devices available for 30 pounds or more.
