MACHINE OPERATOR I

Location: Fayette Plant

About the Role

Provides operator relief in various departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Functions as a changeover, assisting with color changes, setting, material handling, inspecting, and slab handling.
• Conducts tests or inspections as required by the control plan and test methods.
• Performs additional job tasks as documented in the job task check sheet.
• Stops production equipment when a safety, quality, or mechanical problem prevents equipment use or conformance to product requirements.
• Follows ISO operating procedures and maintains quality checks as specified.
• Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• Must walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
• May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures; noise level is usually loud.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of previous manufacturing/production experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good record-keeping and listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
