Ichor Systems in Fremont, CA is seeking Temporary Machine Operators to support weldment (stainless steel and aluminum fittings) manufacturing.
About the role
This position performs basic machine set-up, deburr, polish, detail, DI wash, leak check, and other shop floor support functions.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic set-ups and operate machines in more than one assigned area
- Operate complex equipment and machines in a safe manner
- Fit, align, and adjust machines or assemblies to meet tolerances and product operating requirements
- Work from schedules, shop orders, established procedures, blueprints, and specifications
- Identify deviations that can potentially interrupt productivity
- Load and unload various types of cleaning equipment, miscellaneous assembly, inspecting, alcohol wiping, swabbing, nitrogen dry parts, leak check, LPC testing, bag and tag
- Operate air and electric drivers, ultrasonic wash
- Proper use of required PPE (coveralls, boots, hairnets/headcovers/face shields, gloves, etc.)
- May work in a cleanroom environment all or part of the shift
- Maintain logs and other necessary documents
- Work with direct supervision
Requirements
- Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices, specifications, and work instructions
- Ability to operate a variety of machines
- Basic understanding of related mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good teamwork skills and willingness to learn and help others
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and push/pull/move/lift up to 50 lbs safely
- Basic computer skills for manufacturing documentation, email, and navigating basic ERP systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Some work may be required in a Class 100 Cleanroom requiring full gown PPE
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, and work instructions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; trade program in Welding Technology a plus
- 1-2+ years of manufacturing or related work experience; welding experience a plus
- Experience with stainless steel and aluminum fittings, measuring devices, and hand tools
Physical Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment may be noisy, dusty, and have temperature variations
- Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and other items
- May work in a cleanroom environment all or part of the shift
Schedule
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay
For candidates in CA, the pay range for this position is $19.33 to $32.84 per hour, non-exempt. Pay is determined by role, level, location, and additional job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
