Medline's NAMIC Division, located in Glens Falls, is growing and hiring motivated individuals to join our team. We specialize in manufacturing Cath-Lab and Fluid Management products packaged into custom orders for customers worldwide. This role offers paid training with no experience necessary, making it ideal for individuals seeking a career change interested in medical manufacturing devices used in critical heart procedures.

Schedule & Pay

  • 3rd shift: Sunday – Thursday, 9:30pm – 6:00am (training on 1st or 2nd shift may be necessary)
  • Starting pay: $19.50/hour, with shift differential based on hours worked
  • $1,000 sign-on bonus, payable after 120 days of continuous employment for 3rd shift (DT/PMM Department)

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate data entry transactions within MRP system and accurately record information on Discrete job to ensure material traceability/accountability
  • Read and interpret work schedules, Kanban, Discrete job, bill of materials, pick lists, drawings, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Operate various equipment while achieving quality standards, production plan, and cost objectives
  • Perform machine changeovers
  • Perform minor adjustments and troubleshooting to maintain part specifications; conduct all operations within SOP and operational code guidelines
  • Assist in PM of assigned machinery
  • Independently start up and operate equipment per applicable procedures
  • Recognize technical problems requiring assistance from machine shop/engineering and request support as needed
  • Provide feedback on processes and machine performance to engineering and manufacturing management
  • Provide training to other machine operators as requested
  • Continually review procedures for clarity, completeness, and correctness; demonstrate ability to reference and discuss manufacturing procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Set up work station with necessary equipment and supplies per job assignment
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisors/Coordinators to meet production requirements
  • Operate bar coding and other computerized equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory/legal requirements
  • Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School or GED level degree preferred
  • Ability to actively communicate with Production Coordinator and/or Production Supervisor
  • Proactive and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to define and analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision or direction
  • Ability to seek guidance from superior when necessary
  • Ability to read, write, and compute basic math
  • Ability to take direction
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and cooperative
  • Excellent hand and eye coordination
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills and effective problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in running and/or adjusting equipment and/or machines
  • Ability to read and interpret customized blueprints, travelers, SOPs, operational codes, and relevant tables and charts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Physical Demands

  • Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures
  • For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, notify manager/supervisor immediately
  • Exposure to Manufacturing Clean Room environment
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to regularly stand and walk to perform production tasks
  • Required to perform repetitive movement while demonstrating proficient hand and eye coordination, hand dexterity, and good vision
  • Continual attention to the accuracy of documentation
