What do Machine Helpers do at Pratt Industries?
Our Stackers feed the machine that makes the boxes. All kinds of boxes are made here, from Home Depot to Black & Decker, Amazon, and Fruit of the Earth, among others.
Job Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. Candidates preferred who offer 6 months’ experience as a Flexo or DieCut Helper or 6 months’ experience in the Press and Finishing Departments.
- Languages: Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters. Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts like percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
- Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts and production specifications, product quality specifications, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Physical Demands: Regularly stands, walks, talks or hears. Frequently uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
