Pay
Full-time position, pay starts at $18.25/hour, depending on experience. In addition to the base wage, this position comes with a set schedule, full benefits, and a $2.00 Family Practice differential. This is a flex float position and will require availability to ALL clinics in the Treasure Valley.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider and/or physician, which could include casting, bracing, and injections
- Provide clinical triage/communication as defined by protocol or per provider instructions
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients, including sterilization, cleaning, and checks on medical equipment
- Prepare basic laboratory tests on-premises and prepare laboratory specimens
- Perform phlebotomy involved with the proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of specimens for laboratory testing from patients of all ages
- Administer adult and childhood vaccines and wellness exams
- Observe disease improvement and help manage chronic conditions
- Help patients navigate the healthcare system, providing one-on-one education, and participating in the patient’s healthcare plan
- Aid in identifying methods of improving patient care
- Assist with special procedures not offered in the Urgent Care, i.e., IUDs, Nexplanon, biopsies, diabetic foot care, sleep studies, Cologuards, and circumcisions
- Aid in managing patient flow, paperwork, and customer service
- Accurately document patient encounters and interventions performed
- Relay provider instructions to patients
- Aid in managing non-direct patient care tasks (autoclaving, stocking room, scanning records, mailing, etc.)
- Aid in identifying methods of improving patient care
- Aid in managing patient schedules and referrals
- Aid in emergency situations
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the organization, i.e., HIPAA
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- MAs to have completed a nationally accredited program (EMT certification/experience and Military medical training and experience will be considered)
- RNs and LPNs must have a current license from the Idaho Board of Nursing
- Venipuncture skills
- Previous clinical experience preferred
- Customer service-oriented attitude/behavior
- Computer proficiency. Ability to use applicable software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to travel to all Primary Health clinics in the Treasure Valley
- Ability to work in Specialties as needed
- Recommended vaccines to include annual Influenza, Hep B, TDaP, MMR, Varicella, and TB
