Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards and policies. Demonstrates leadership and flexibility, treating all team members and patients with respect.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and holding team members accountable.
  • Understands and respects the scope of practice for both the nurse and team members, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Champions new ideas and collaborates with other departments to resolve problems.
  • Mentors and coaches team members, sharing responsibilities and authority.
  • Complies with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Develops and implements individualized plans of care, ensuring multidisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
  • Maintains patient safety, including medication administration, patient falls prevention, and infection control.
  • Ensures patient comfort and addresses anxiety or concerns related to their condition, treatment, or discharge.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members to discuss patient findings and progress.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and shares responsibility for continuous improvement.
  • Adheres to workplace safety guidelines and maintains a safe environment for self and others.
  • Provides excellent customer service, answering call lights, alarms, and patient requests promptly.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.
  • Acts as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees, registry, students, and other team members.
  • Attends mandatory meetings, in-services, and staff meetings as required, actively participates in professional development.
  • Organizes work to minimize overtime and assists in systems improvement.
  • Utilizes payroll and non-payroll resources effectively to support optimal patient care.

Requirements

  • 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, or home health/palliative/hospice care.
  • Registered Nurse License (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • PICC didactic course and recent (within the past 3 years) PICC insertion experience may be required.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Basic qualifications: 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in acute care, ambulatory care or home health/palliative/hospice care.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • License: Registered Nurse License (California).
  • Additional certifications: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification preferred.

Pay

The posted pay range is $67.25 - $92.28 per hour, reflecting the full value of the total rewards package. Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
