Lung Transplant Surgeon, Assistant Professor of Surgery

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Teaching responsibilities
- Instruction of medical students and surgical residents
Clinical responsibilities
- Lung transplant, adult cardiac or thoracic surgery
- All aspects of care for patients undergoing lung transplantation
Research or scholarship responsibilities
- Clinical and/or basic science research on topics in the field of lung transplantation
The successful candidate will support surgical aspects of the program's clinical operations, academic initiatives, and strategic growth, working in close partnership with the Penn Transplant Institute and a multidisciplinary team of renowned transplant surgeons, pulmonologists, and support. The successful candidate will practice primarily in Philadelphia. They may also participate in other areas of either cardiac surgery or thoracic surgery as well as mechanical circulatory support and ECMO.
