About the role
The Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Mass General Brigham is seeking faculty candidates with interest in Lung Transplantation and general thoracic surgery to join the faculty as an Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will support the lung transplant program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Perform lung transplantation, including harvest, implantation, EVLP, patient evaluation, and perioperative care (at least 50% of time)
- Perform general thoracic surgery, including robotic thoracic surgery, for the remaining time
- Pursue academic and research interests, seek funding, and establish a clinical transplantation or research portfolio in thoracic surgery
- Participate in the education and teaching of medical students and residents on the Transplant Service and within MGB Thoracic Surgery
Requirements
- MD or equivalent degree
- Board eligible or Board certified in Thoracic Surgery
- Training and experience in lung transplantation
- Eligible for a Massachusetts Medical License
- Commitment to excellence in quality and patient safety
