About the role
The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree.
Responsibilities
- Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students and surgical residents.
- Clinical responsibilities may include lung transplant, adult cardiac or thoracic surgery, and all aspects of care for patients undergoing lung transplantation.
- Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical and/or basic science research on topics in the field of lung transplantation.
- Support surgical aspects of the program’s clinical operations, academic initiatives, and strategic growth, working in close partnership with the Penn Transplant Institute and a multidisciplinary team of renowned transplant surgeons, pulmonologists, and support.
- Practice primarily in Philadelphia. May also participate in other areas of either cardiac surgery or thoracic surgery as well as mechanical circulatory support and ECMO.
