Responsibilities
- Safely operate chainsaws and other cutting equipment to trim and size engineered lumber products.
- Follow detailed cutting lists and customer specifications accurately.
- Inspect and maintain saws, blades, and equipment daily for safe operation.
- Organize, stage, and label cut material for delivery or pickup.
- Absorb and assist in loading and unloading trucks and maintaining yard organization.
- Follow all Ganahl Lumber safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Communicate with the Yard Foreman and Sales Team to ensure accuracy and timely completion of orders.
Requirements
- Prior experience using chainsaws or similar cutting tools in a yard or construction environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy lumber (up to 75 lbs).
- Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and diagrams.
- Basic math skills and measurement accuracy (fractions, decimals, etc.).
Qualifications
- Outdoor yard environment — exposure to weather, noise, and dust.
- Requires use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
Skills
- Knowledge of engineered lumber products (LVL, PSL, LSL, and other specialty beams).
- Ability to follow detailed cutting lists and customer specifications.
- Attention to detail and safety awareness.

Pay
- Competitive hourly wage with overtime opportunities.
Schedule
- Full time, Monday thru Friday job from 2:30pm to 11:00pm with some occasional overtime work required.
