Responsibilities

• Safely operate chainsaws and other cutting equipment to trim and size engineered lumber products.
• Follow detailed cutting lists and customer specifications accurately.
• Inspect and maintain saws, blades, and equipment daily for safe operation.
• Organize, stage, and label cut material for delivery or pickup.
• Absorb and assist in loading and unloading trucks and maintaining yard organization.
• Follow all Ganahl Lumber safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Communicate with the Yard Foreman and Sales Team to ensure accuracy and timely completion of orders.

Requirements

• Prior experience using chainsaws or similar cutting tools in a yard or construction environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to lift and move heavy lumber (up to 75 lbs).
• Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and diagrams.
• Basic math skills and measurement accuracy (fractions, decimals, etc.).

Qualifications

• Outdoor yard environment — exposure to weather, noise, and dust.
• Requires use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.

Skills

• Knowledge of engineered lumber products (LVL, PSL, LSL, and other specialty beams).
• Ability to follow detailed cutting lists and customer specifications.
• Attention to detail and safety awareness.

Schedule

• Full time, Monday thru Friday job from 2:30pm to 11:00pm with some occasional overtime work required.
