LTS Teacher, Special Services - 1.0 FTE - Sweeney Elementary School

Job Summary

Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a resource room setting and/or co-taught classroom, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessionals(s).

Provides instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability, creates a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth.

Establishes effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members.

Education/Training/Experience

• MN licensure in special education EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS.
• NVCI (CPI) training preferred.
• Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
