LTS Special Services Teacher - 1.0 FTE - Shakopee High School

Job Summary

The assignment will begin as soon as possible through June 5, 2026.

Required Education/Training/Experience

• Valid MN teaching licensure in special education, specifically EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS.NVCI (CPI) training preferred.
• Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students.
• Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.

Provide Instruction

Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability, create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth.

Work Relationships

• Establish effective working relationships with students and parents,
• Work collaboratively with other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a resource room setting and/or co-taught classroom,
• Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives;
• Follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork;
• Communicate effectively with families and staff;
• Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans,
• Direct the work of paraprofessionals(s).

Pay

Salary ranges from $51,000 to $71,251 depending upon education level and experience.
