Job Duties
- Supports nursing clinical practice, budgetary personnel activities, regulatory activities associated with the clinical department, and professional development coordination assistance.
- Affirms compliance with the directives, policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Develops and initiates improvements in the organization and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
This role is 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- An LPN license is required.
- A minimum of 2 years related work experience is required.

- Associate's Degree (Preferred).

Job Duties
- Supervises staff and participates in recruitment, interview and selection process of candidates.
- Cohorts training and orientation programs for the nursing and other clinical staff.
- Plans and conducts in-service and other informational meetings with employees.
- Maintains performance, evaluates job competencies, and provides feedback.
- Assesses ongoing training needs.
- Schedules employees and manages resources on a daily basis.
- Acts as a liaison with other groups, both internal and external entities.
- Evaluates operations and recommends and implements changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in the development, organization, and implementation of various programs focused on the professional growth, development, and competency of ambulatory nursing and nursing supportive roles.
- Aids professional development supervisor with orientation, onboarding, ongoing competency evaluation and integration of new employees, including database management.
- Maintains current knowledge base clinically and administratively through active participation in professional and educational activities to enhance skills as an educator and clinical resource.
- Supports organizational and site-specific efforts for service excellence, financial accountability, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- Maintains documentation for fiscal impact tracing.
- Collaborates with Ambulatory Nursing Leadership team to support the department goals and Geisinger Nursing system strategic plan.
- Serves as a strong role model in professional practice as evidenced by strong relationships with staff and members of other departments, effective communications, appropriate resource utilization and sound planning skills.
- Actively supports Magnet philosophies such as a healthy work environment, professional growth and patient and family involvement in care decisions.
- Serves as a clinical resource, assisting nursing personnel in attending to identified patient and family needs, obtaining equipment and patient care items as necessary, and to answer questions and solve problems within the department and the institution.
- Performs all clinical duties of Licensed Practical Nurse.
