About the role
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing direct patient care under RN supervision within the scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Assess, manage, and perform routine nursing procedures for medical/surgical patients, ensuring high-quality care.
- Coordinate care with RNs and other team members, updating them on patient status and collaborating on care plans.
- Educate patients and caregivers to support self-care and home health needs.
- Complete accurate documentation, participate in team conferences, and adhere to regulatory guidelines.
- Contribute to staff education, onboarding, and ongoing professional development.
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Nursing Certification.
- Licensing: LPN license, BLS certification (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year medical/surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation abilities.
- Ability to serve as a preceptor and stay current with best practices.
