About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care to residents of all ages in an assisted living setting, under supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The role involves providing compassionate, competent care while maintaining safety and confidentiality, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and adhering to licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• assessing residents and administering medications or treatments as ordered
• monitoring resident health, comfort, and safety
• documenting care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary interactions
• recognizing problems, recommending solutions, and responding to emergent situations
• counseling residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans
• collaborating effectively with healthcare team members
• performing testing to evaluate resident status and providing technical support to healthcare professionals
• ensuring confidentiality and clear communication
• contributing to resident education and self-care programs

Qualifications

• graduation from an accredited nursing program leading to licensure as an LPN
• current licensure in the practicing state
• preferably experience in long-term, sub-acute, or medical/surgical care
