Role Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medication Nurse provides essential nursing support in a senior living environment, focusing on safe medication administration, health monitoring, and accurate clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
- Document all care accurately in MAR/TAR in real time.
- Monitor residents for symptoms, adverse reactions, or changes in health, reporting promptly.
- Support care plan updates by transcribing physician orders and conducting Service & Health Updates (SHUs).
- Observe residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive changes and document findings.
- Maintain medication carts, perform narcotic counts, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Active LPN license in good standing.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong assessment and documentation skills.
- Experience in senior care or medication administration is preferred.
This role is vital in preventing medication errors, early detection of health issues, and ensuring resident safety through clinical precision and regulatory adherence.
