About the role
Provide professional nursing care for residents in long-term care settings. Work under supervision of registered nurses, advanced practice providers, or physicians.
Responsibilities
- Assess residents, administer medications and treatments, and ensure their health, comfort, and safety.
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, and collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Recognize problems, respond to emergencies, and recommend solutions.
- Counsel residents and families on prevention and treatment plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program; associate degree preferred.
- Possess an unencumbered LPN license with multi-state privileges.
- Complete required clinical experience or 400+ hours of practical nursing experience.
- Maintain required competencies, certifications, and continuing education units.
- If applicable, have IV therapy/management skills per state requirements.
