LPN GIG - Flex/Per Diem/PRN - Mercy Washington and Surrounding Communities

About the Role

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Position Details

This is a PRN/Per Diem/Flex/Float Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position within the GIG program at Mercy Hospital Washington and surrounding communities. W-2 employee status with the following terms:

• Minimum 12 hours every 90 days
• Maximum 30 hours per week (Sun-Sat)
• 4, 8, or 12 hour shifts available
• Variable shift incentives
• No weekend, holiday, or shift requirements
• Flexibility to pick up day or night shifts based on preference

Participation requires scheduling a minimum number of hours, availability on short notice, flexibility, and potential for last-minute shift cancellation. The Gig Nursing Program does not offer guaranteed shift hours and will be the first for cancellation.

Responsibilities

• Float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities of choice
• Provide patient care in various departments, including:
• Behavioral Health (BH)
• Emergency Department (ED)
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Medical-Surgical (MS)

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration given for comparable education, experience, and successful licensure
• Current LPN license within the hiring state
• One year of recent bedside LPN experience for Med Surg
• Minimum of two years of recent bedside LPN experience for specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
• IV certification required

Certifications

• For Med Surg (MS) - BLS
• For Critical Care (CC) - BLS, ACLS
• For Emergency Department (ED) - BLS, ACLS, & PALS

Physical Requirements

• Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Skills

Preferred experience with Epic.

Pay

$30/hour + variable shift incentive.
