LPN - Cardiovascular (Inpatient)

Role Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) collaborates with RNs to provide patient care in a hospital setting. When the unit is full, the LPN assists with high-acuity patients or supports RNs managing heavy patient loads.

Responsibilities

• Administering oral and IV piggyback medications
• Trach care
• Dressing changes
• NG tube care
• Ostomy care
• Documenting assessments and care plans after RN initiation
• Communicating with physicians and allied health professionals to coordinate care
• Reinforcing discharge instructions

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days from American Heart Association
• College Diploma in Nursing
• Over 1 year of LPN work experience
