LPN - Cardiac Intermediate

About the Role

Join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a specialized cardiac surgical intermediate care unit. You will provide high-acuity care in a 28-bed monitored unit for critically ill post-operative cardiothoracic, vascular, and overflow medical patients. Manage therapies such as chest tubes, lytic therapy, antidysrhythmics, vasopressors, oxygen systems, insulin drips, and sedation medications. Collaborate with neuro trauma and ICU teams, with opportunities for cross-training and career advancement into ICU units.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care under supervision or direction of a licensed healthcare professional.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
• Ensure professional accountability.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent experience with licensure.
• Current LPN license maintained per state requirements.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 pounds), and assist with patient movement.
• Either new or experienced LPNs welcome.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; IV certification preferred.
