About the role
Provides patient care using the nursing process under supervision or with RN guidance, ensuring professional accountability and patient rights.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates patient care with other departments.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Manages high-acuity post-operative cardiothoracic and vascular patients in a 28-bed intermediate ICU (4D).
- Handles therapies such as chest tubes, lytic therapy, vasopressors, Bipap, insulin drips, and sedatives.
- Offers opportunities for cross-training and career advancement into ICU units.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent experience.
- Current LPN license in the state, maintained per licensing requirements.
- Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 pounds), and assist with patient movement.
- Open to both new and experienced LPNs.
- Basic Life Support certification required; IV certification preferred.
