The posted compensation range of $18.86 - $25.63 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- ND State Board of Nursing current LPN License (Licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the state of ND or in a compact state. Graduate Practical Nurse (G.P.N.) must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse while the work authorization to practice is valid)
- Previous health care experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Patient Admissions & Care Planning: Collaborates with the Charge Nurse on admission orders and medication sheets, assists in developing and updating care plans based on patient condition changes
- Patient Assessment & Reporting: Performs assessments when notified of patient condition changes, reporting findings to the Charge Nurse and providers as requested
- Medication Management: Dispenses oral medications, administers IV, IM, and subcutaneous medications under RN supervision, reports medication errors, conducts narcotic counts, and gives inhalation therapy
- Discharges & Care Level Changes: Notifies pharmacy of patient status changes, supervises patient/caregiver education, arranges follow-up care, removes devices, and ensures home medications are returned during discharge
- Emergency Care & Skills: Assists in ER/treatment room care, gathers patient information, calls for additional help during emergencies, and performs skilled procedures like IVs, catheterization, and dressing changes under RN supervision
- Documentation & Infection Control: Completes all necessary documentation, including medication, treatment, and acute/swing bed conditions, maintains patient Kardex, performs safety checks, and logs/reports infectious incidents while ensuring isolation precautions
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
