Responsibilities
Assist the physical installation of communications systems on all assigned projects. Work alongside the project team to ensure safety and quality objectives are met by adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Verify understanding of the project plan, safety requirements, and task responsibilities during project kick-off meetings.
- Follow daily work project plans, including safe work practices and requirements.
- Communicate changes in the scope of work to assigned project leads and/or PMO and follow adapted project plans as needed.
- Assist in cable pathway construction, cable pulling, device terminations, and system testing.
- Produce quality and efficient work, assist in creating punch lists and system testing, and maintain a clean and organized working environment.
- Arrive to the job site on time and work as a self-driven team member to accomplish needed tasks.
- Verify all assigned project tasks were complete and ensure cleanliness of the project site during project close-out.
- Provide input to PMO on project management processes, procedures, tools, and best practices for improvement during post-project meetings.
- Perform on-call duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience within CEC or a similar company.
- Valid driver's license.
Skills
- Strong communication skills and general construction or mechanical knowledge.
- Knowledge of communications systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
- PC proficiency (Windows environment) and working knowledge of Excel (preferred).
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements
The duties of this job require problem-solving, creative skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. The employee must be able to effectively speak and understand English language communications. Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing, sitting, and using hands and fingers, with occasional lifting of objects up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with occasional outside activities subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
