Low-Time Pet Store Clerk

About the role

Weavers Way is a not-for-profit member-owned co‑op operating on a People‑Planet‑Profit triple bottom line. The co‑op supports the local community, over 300 local food vendors, and strives for sustainability. As a Pet Store Clerk you will help fulfill this mission while working in the Mt. Airy/Across the Way location.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them in finding the right products for their pets
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
• Stock shelves and ensure inventory is well‑stocked
• Provide information to customers about pet care and nutrition
• Handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store goals

Requirements

• Availability to work the following schedule: Sunday AM, Monday AM and Tuesday PM
• Commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co‑op
• Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment preferred
• Passion for animals and their well‑being
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co‑op

Pay

$16 per hour

Schedule

Sunday AM, Monday AM and Tuesday PM (approximately 19 hours per week)
