Richmond State Hospital is about the people we serve and the community relationships we have developed, dating back to 1890. Richmond State Hospital is a public behavioral health facility operated by the state of Indiana and one of six state psychiatric hospitals within the Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction. As part of a newly integrated system of state psychiatric hospitals, we serve consumers across the state as the Eastern Center of Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Services. Nestled in northwestern Richmond, our beautiful campus provides a quiet and peaceful environment. Salary
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $29,588.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.
A Day In The Life
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Authorize the accuracy of all orders received in the storeroom and authorize all goods received.
- Contact vendors regarding partial shipments and/or misorders.
- Maintained detailed inventory records and records of items ordered.
- Evaluate and recognize record-keeping or storage procedures as necessary.
- Ensure proper storage procedures and rotation of stock for perishable items.
- Make recommendations on purchase of new equipment for warehouse and maintenance required in building.
- Oversee and assembles equipment received in “knocked down” condition.
- May ensure the security of incarcerated individuals staff assigned to the warehouse.
What You'll Need For Success
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
- Thorough knowledge of requisitioning and disbursing procedures, consumption rates of stored items and inventory control procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of stock items, their locations and the proper methods of storing a variety of goods and supplies based upon efficient space utilization and a variety of state and federal regulations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Practical knowledge of state regulations in handling and storing foodstuffs and perishables.
- Ability to train inmates and staff in proper operation of all equipment and proper methods of storage.
- Ability to maintain detailed, accurate inventory and purchasing records.
- Ability to operate forklift, hand-truck and other mechanical equipment in warehouse.
