Loss Recovery Representative
What You’ll Do
The Charged-Off Collector is responsible for managing and collecting on charged-off accounts to help recover assets and minimize loss for Westlake Financial. This position requires strong negotiation and listening skills, sound judgment, and the ability to make strategic decisions regarding repossession and settlements. Contact customers via outbound and inbound calls to arrange payment solutions and bring accounts to resolution. Negotiate payment plans based on customer circumstances while meeting daily and monthly performance goals. Conduct extensive skip tracing to locate customers, vehicles, or potential leads. Maintain accurate records of account activity, updates, and vehicle recovery progress. Collaborate with team members to support department goals and share information on active cases. Handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment. Ensure confidentiality of all company operations, customer information, and technology systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong skip-tracing background with the ability to locate customers and collateral effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and written skills with a professional, goal-oriented attitude.
- Flexible availability – able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Proven ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM with solid attention to detail.
- Driven to meet goals and motivated to grow within the department.
- Thorough understanding of state and federal collection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive finance industry, with knowledge of collections, repossession, and skip tracing.
- Ability to assess and value collateral accurately.
- Proficient with computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other office software.
- Comfortable using web-based applications and online skip-tracing tools.

Benefits
- All agent incentive opportunities may vary monthly, and are not guaranteed, and are subject to change.
- Base Pay: $20.50 per hour plus bonus potential of up to $6,800 monthly based on individual and team performance.
- Tiered Retention Bonus: $500 upon completion of 3 months from the start date, and an additional $500 upon completion of 6 months from the start date.
- Incentive: If the department exceeds its goal, eligible agents in the bonus range will receive a "kicker" ranging from $100.00 to $750.00, based on goal achievement.
Pay
Base Pay: $20.50 per hour plus bonus potential of up to $6,800 monthly based on individual and team performance.
