Responsibilities
- Analyzes and processes complex claims, focusing on high exposure cases involving litigation.
- Works with high exposure, complex multi-jurisdictional claims to identify potential third-party subrogation recovery opportunities.
- Investigates and gathers information to assess the feasibility of recovery, employing strategies to manage claims through resolution.
- Promotes subrogation efforts by providing guidance and direction to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring recovery efforts align with client, financial, and jurisdictional strategies.
- Develops and pursues third-party subrogation claims, referring assignments to subrogation counsel as necessary, and negotiating subrogation interests.
- Sends appropriate subrogation lien notifications and gathers necessary information to support viable claims, documenting claim notes with relevant details.
- Manages claim recoveries, including subrogation, ensuring timely and accurate claim payments and settlements.
- Prepares status reports for clients and presents findings during claims reviews, providing additional expertise to peers and participating in team reviews.
- Coordinates litigation management and vendor referrals, managing the litigation process to ensure timely and cost-effective resolutions.
- Develops and delivers training materials, leading department training opportunities.
- Utilizes cost containment techniques, such as strategic vendor partnerships, to reduce the overall cost of claims for clients.
- Aids in gathering important compliance and claims processing information for team meetings.
Qualifications
- Six (6) years of multi-jurisdictional liability (general liability, auto liability, products), subrogation, and/or workers compensation claims handling experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Licenses as required, professional certifications as applicable to line of business preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
- PC literate, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
